🪽 Euphoria Finale Such an odd final season, but the finale had me sobbing. I'm really unhappy with some of the writing, and character development, but thought it was really visually appealing. 

 Side note: all the shows I was watching are over now, Survivor and The Testament (Handmaid's Tale spin-off) 🪽 Celebrated my Mom's Birthday. Shout out to Big Mama. She is the closest thing to magic. Just a really special woman who is enchanting and resilient.  🪽 I watched The Great Gatsby (2013), for the first time. I'm not really sure what I was expecting. I love Leo in almost everything, so I knew it would be good, but I wasn't expecting a tragic love story with so much complexity. It was so stunning. I love the 1920s/Roaring 20s aesthetic. 🪽One thing I'm trying to do this summer is to try new foods. We get so stuck in what we like, we've committed to trying new things. The Rule is to try something new when we go out to eat, and or try an entirely new restaurant. I'm also bringing it home, by always adding 2-3 things to my grocery list to expand our options. It's so easy (especially in our family, who are all neurodivergent) to always buy "safe" foods. 

🪽Listened to Lizzo's new album. Usually her music doesn't really resonate with me. I've wanted to lover her though because I like her personality in interviews and on social media, but I just never really LOVED a song. I saw Rolling Stone gave the album a 2.5/5 which was just crazy to me. It was so experimental, with obvious inspirations, insane vocals, humour, and great musicality and interpolations. Honestly, for me it was her best album yet. One of their complaints was that it was "low energy" and I just thought.... ARE WE LISTENING TO THE SAME ALBUM? I just don't think the albums low sales means it's a bad album.  🪽I've been painting bird houses for my mom, I've done 4 for her already, and she had a bunch more for me to do! I've been finding it really relaxing to focus on a craft like that. I've been trying to give them a really whimsical vibe. Using really quirky colors and designs. Trying to make them cohesive, colorful and bold.Update: I did 6 more! They look soooo good!  

🪽Had a nice get together with my siblings, they're both GenZ, so I had them watch a millennial classic, "Accepted". It's fun putting them on!  🪽I finally got a chance to watch "Michael" the Michael Jackson bio-pic, it was great. I feel like so much of his story was skipped over but I did appreciate the nods to Peter Pan/Neverland, and the Wizard of Oz. Jaffar was incredible in this role, there were times where it felt like Michael on the screen. I also loved that they left it open at the end to entice a sequel. I hope there is one.  🪽We had such a beautiful moment on Father's Day, when my mom and I made the final payment on their house.I wrote a blog about this moment you can read here  🪽School is almost out. So excited to have a more free schedule. Sleep in more, and not worry about being up so late. It will be a fun one.
